This course will introduce you to the ancient art of glassblowing. Using your sketches and ideas, you will learn how to give life to simple shapes such as vases, goblets or any other utilitarian or artistic object. We will explore different techniques to personalise your creations. You’ll practise different bass shapes to create your own ideas. You’ll discover how to use powders and glass frits to add colour to the interior or exterior of your pieces. We’ll be experimenting with different patterns obtained by preparing coloured powders and using specific masks. You’ll learn how to make simple murrines with glass powders, small pieces of coloured glass that can be used to create complex patterns.
