Claire Kelly•The Art of Patterned Cane Glass

May 11, 2026 @ 09:00 May 15, 2026 @ 17:00

This workshop will be a great start for students that wish to start working with cane or that use cane but would like some direction towards more complicated projects.

Emphasis on proper glassblowing techniques such as gathering, marvering, and shaping will establish a solid foundation to build your designs on. I will work through processes and describe my techniques with class demonstrations that will build on the steps the class will be learning. Students will work as synchronized teams to learn to pull cane, pick up cane on the blow pipe, and make a finished vessel from the pattern. From there we will approach more advanced projects.
