Dylan Katz

Dylan Katz is a glass artist based in Tampere, Finland. His work explores the boundary between fragility and permanence, using glass as a language to examine the shifting relationship between humans and the natural world. He is best known for his ongoing Uncanny Ice series, monumental sculptures inspired by the complex structures of frozen water. Katz founded Katztudio in 2016 and has exhibited widely across Europe, including The Venice Glass Week, the Finnish Glass Museum, and the Biot International Glass Festival in France. His recent projects include Ghiaccio Muranese, a 2025 collaboration with Murano maestro Simone Cenedese, and 61.5°N, a solo exhibition presented during The Venice Glass Week 2024. Blending technical mastery with conceptual clarity, Katz’s work challenges the traditional divide between craft and contemporary art. His practice emphasizes process, material honesty, and the expressive potential of glass as a medium for storytelling and environmental reflection.
