Katrina Hude
Katrina Hude lives on Whidbey Island in Washington State. She began working with glass as an undergraduate in 1990 at California College of Arts and Crafts and then, received an MFA from San Jose State Univ. California in sculpture in 1995. Since, she has been awarded the fellowship at The Creative Glass Center of America, and Emerging Artist in Residence at the Pilchuck Glass School. Katrina has lectured and demonstrated as a guest artist in Japan, Australia and in Mexico. In the US, she was an Artist in Residence at the Tacoma Museum of Glass, The Toledo Museum of Glass and a Visiting Artist at West Texas A&M University. Katrina also participated in the International Glass Symposium at Novy Bor, Czech Republic, the Glass Art Society Conference, Adelaide Australia, Glass Art Society Conference, Toledo, Ohio and the California Glass Exchange in Oakland, CA. In July of 2024 Katrina participated as a guest artist at the Glass Safari in Pretoria, South Africa. In September 2024, she was a demonstrator and Artist in Residence at Gorilla Glass during the Latin American Biennale of Glass, Oaxaca, MX. She is a Past-President of the Whidbey Island Arts Council 501c3 where she owns and operates her own hot glass art studio since 1999.
