M. Fatih Duruerk

M. Fatih Duruerk was born in 1979 in Ankara. He completed his undergraduate studies in the Industrial Engineering Department at Çankaya University. He successfully completed a minor program in the Interior Architecture Department at the same university to gain a design vision. Having been interested in experiments and glass since childhood, Duruerk finally had the opportunity to work professionally with glass at the Istanbul Glass Furnace Foundation in 2005. There, he worked with artist Angela Thwaites on kiln casting and fusion techniques. The material he had been curious about and researching for years, “glass,” became an inseparable part of his life. This inseparability led him to establish the Karma Object and Space Design Workshop in 2008. Since then, at Karma Design Workshop, he has been continuing his artistic and architectural work, mainly using glass as well as other materials, and working on raising awareness through the products he designs.
