Chris Ahalt is a glass artist specialized in flameworking. First introduced to the flame in 1998, Ahalt was an early adopter of the art form. Today he finds himself as one of the leaders in the industry which has grown tremendously into an American glass movement. Ahalt is most notable for his particular style of sculpting of the hollow form. Using primarily a single bubble of glass, Ahalt sculpts intricate animals that are strung up as balloons creating the illusion of floating. He credits much of his knowledge of glass to his time apprenticing under master flameworker, Cesare Toffolo, in Murano, Italy. It was there that Ahalt acquired many of his fundamental techniques that gave him the foundation to produce glass at the highest level.

A graduate from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture/ Furniture Design. Ahalt currently works as a self-employed artist in Minneapolis, MN.
