One-Day Beginner Level Hot Glass Workshop

In this workshop, you will have a unique experience working with molten glass throughout the day, challenging the force of gravity. You’ll start by getting to know the hot glass studio, followed by learning safety rules, how to hold the blowpipe and pontil, studio movements, exercises, pulling glass from the furnace, shaping the glass on the marver table, using the jacks, necking, shearing, and using tweezers, mass form exercises, making round masses with solid glass, making round masses with 2 and 3 lobes, and creating paperweights with embedded colors (flower and twist). After acquiring knowledge and skills up to this point, you’ll move on to glass blowing, and once you’ve gained some control over the glass, you’ll finish your work by blowing a sphere.

Note: The works created in this workshop will go through the annealing process and will be sent later by mail.
