One-Day Beginner Level Hot Glass Workshop on February 8th (Full Day)

Introduction to Hot Glass Workshop

In this workshop, we will embark on a unique experience, challenging gravity throughout the day with molten glass.

So, where do we begin? In this workshop, we will first acquaint ourselves with the hot glass studio. Then, we’ll cover safety rules, how to hold the pipe and noble (ponti), workshop movements and exercises, how to gather glass from the furnace, shaping the gathered glass on the marver table, use of jacks, necking, shearing, and tweezers, mass formation exercises, creating solid glass round masses, creating solid glass round masses with 2 and 3 lobes, and making paperweights with embedded colors (flower and twist). With the knowledge and skills acquired up to this point, we will transition to glass blowing. After refining our mastery over glass, we will conclude our projects by blowing a sphere.

*The works created in this workshop will undergo a firing process and will be shipped later.
