Half-Day Christmas-New Year Themed Bead Workshop on December 11th
We begin learning the art of bead making, one of the flame working techniques, with fundamental shaping techniques. Beads can be molded using freehand and mold shaping techniques and can be diversified with various decorative methods. Such techniques form the basic foundation for thousands of different processes that can be applied.
The primary process in bead making is to create a smooth sphere. This is achieved by continuously rotating glass rods in the flame until a bead of sufficient size is formed, which is then wrapped around a steel rod previously coated with bead separator. In this one-day workshop, participants will learn the creation of basic shapes such as triangles, cubes, cylinders, and flat forms. Subsequently, they will create various glass beads with a Christmas-New Year theme by adding dotting and line work techniques.
